Jamie is the Executive Director of the Sargent Shriver Peace Institute (SSPI). Having been with SSPI since its inception in 2006, he has developed its programming and organizational systems, including its mission, research agenda, applied initiatives, and program partnerships.

Jamie’s current work with SSPI has three foci: advancing public awareness of the political and social legacy of Sargent Shriver; developing the foundational methodology operative in the peacebuilding achievements of Sargent Shriver; and building partnerships with other institutions in the development of curriculum projects that educate and train leaders in a variety of public service and social change venues, including conflict resolution, community policing, political leadership, and diplomacy.

Jamie holds several academic posts, including those of research professor and Founding Director of the Insight Conflict Resolution Program in the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University, and affiliate professor in the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies at the University of Malta.  He serves on the board of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, and writes articles and essays for a range of scholarly and popular publications.

Jamie holds a Ph.D. from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.
